Waves
2025
Waves is an interactive piece that illustrates the RGB color model—an additive system where red, green, and blue combine to create a wide range of colors.
It does this by generating independent red, green, and blue sine waves; each having their own power, length, and speed. By changing these parameters, the viewer can control how the 3 waves intersect at different intensities to produce an array of colors.
Waves explores how combining simple elements can produce complex results. What begins as three predictable patterns transforms into an intricate landscape of shifting colors. The work reflects how beauty emerges when the simplest forces meet, reminding us that complexity is often born from what is most elemental.
Waves was on display at New Alliance Gallery’s Synth-tember 2025 show from 9/12/25 - 11/14/25.
Interactive Controls:
Each column controls a single color.
Each row controls a wave property:
SPEED controls how fast the wave travels.
LENGTH controls how long the wave is.
POWER controls how bright the wave is.
